WHY COACHING?
"The essence of executive coaching is helping leaders work through their dilemmas so they can transform their learning directly into results for the organisation."
O'Neill, Executive Coaching With Backbone And Heart
I offer coaching to people who want to move forward. They may be seeking support to navigate a particular situation or challenge. They may want to give some focused attention to an opportunity on the horizon. They may be looking for an external "thinking partner" as they grapple with important strategic decisions.
The clients who get the most out of coaching have the following characteristics in common:
-
They are focused and committed
-
They know what they want to achieve (even if they need some help to articulate this)
-
They are willing to think deeply and honestly about their situation
-
They are open to challenge
-
They are committed to acting on the conclusions that they draw
I offer coaching sessions and packages as a standalone service. It is also possible to include some coaching sessions as part of a wider consulting agreement. To find out what may be possible, get in touch for an informal conversation.

I am trained and accredited by Barefoot Coaching, whose Accredited Coach Training Programme is regarded as the gold-standard of coach training by the International Coaching Federation.

EXPERIENCE
For the last decade I have worked in the public and charity sectors in the areas of leadership and governance, training and development, and change management. I have worked with individuals and teams at various levels within a range of organisations and I am accredited by Barefoot Coaching.
As a Non-Executive Director for the Welsh Ambulance Service Trust and Qualifications Wales, I work as part of the Board to ensure that the organisations are operating effectively, efficiently, and in the best interests of the public that they serve. My coaching skills are invaluable in asking incisive questions, provoking strategic discussions, and offering the balance of support and challenge that is so important in enabling people to make good decisions.
I have several years experience of executive coaching, working with individual leaders to enable them to build high-performing teams with a strong sense of purpose and direction.
I previously spent three years coaching full time, working primarily with graduates on a Leadership Development Programme. Within this role I coached a variety of individuals with different needs, focusing on personal, professional and leadership development within an education setting.
I am particularly interested in resilience; understanding how we can become and remain resilient in demanding settings. My research in this area led me to create a Resilience Model which has been used as a core component of teacher training within challenging contexts across the UK.
I have also delivered a variety of training in coaching, change management, resilience and leadership development at conferences in Cardiff, London, Leeds and online.
